Tasty Tuesday

Ah. I tried two new things this past week.  I am pretty excited about both. The first was a good deal.

You may be like me, I always see split chicken breast on sale for super cheap. Today it was 99 cents a pound!! What!! Fantastic deal. So I was curious. I texted a few friends, did a little google search and I decided to go for it.

Here is what I learned.  Split chicken breasts is bone in and skin on.  They are said to be more juicy and a little more flavorful than boneless skinless chicken breasts. They are a little more work. But I have time being home all day so a little extra work doesn't usually stop me. So anyways. I picked up some at the store.  I brought it home and stuck it in the fridge and looked for a great recipe.  I couldn't find anything that sounded delicious. So I made up my own by using a little everything from everyone's. So I took my 7x11 pan. And sprayed some cooking spray. I took the chciken breats, rinsed them off good. I peeled the skin back and put a very generous amount of onion and garlic seasoning. (I personally love mcormick seasons) and a little tenderizer on there.  Too and bottom. All over seasoning.. Laid them in the pan and sprayed a little cooking oil on top to add a little crispness onto them. I baked them at 400 for just under an hour.. They were amazing! I should have taken a picture..

My next goodness was something Kris asked me to fix. He found it on a runners site and emailed it to me. It was for a peach scone.  Here is the link :

It's more of a cobbler type thing. Very delicious.  I would add a spice next time.  But very good.  In the comments someone said making them in smaller containers. Maybe we will try that next.
