We have a wonderful deck, and huge backyard with a trampoline. Wesley is in heaven.

Well we are getting settled, finally getting things on the walls. So here it is. They are all of order but i explain all the pictures.
This is Wesley's room. There is another room next to his, (no picture of) that is our guest bedroom. It's still evolving.

A little explanation. The people who owned the house before us added on to the house. It was a three bedroom, two bath house. Well they added on to the back. What used to be the laundry room is now where the water heater is and a little storage closet area. We now have what Kris refers to as the Anex. There is another bedroom and a sitting area that we use as our tv room. The bedroom is currently used as the office/craft room area. So the picture above is a chalkboard I made Wesley. This is where we do "school" or little lessons everyday.

At the very beginning of May, we took a quick family vacation to Washington DC. My dad has been stationed up there for about a year, so we thought we would take the opportunity for a free place to stay and to go visit. We tried to see as much as we could see while we there. It was a Thursday through Monday trip.
On Thursday, we did some grocery shopping (if we have food and snacks, we can travel all day) and then did a tour of the pentagon with my Dad. I have been to the pentagon before, but now that I am older (Last time I was there I was probably 12) I enjoy it a lot more. We Pretended to be the President as well, it was fun.
Friday, we toured the Newseum. It was very interesting. It had tons of cool artifacts as well as a ton of history. Its the media side of history. They had pieces of the Berlin Wall, Items from September 11 ( I may have teared up at this portion with my mom), Sports history. We saw a very interesting film with some of the greatest moments in sports. Kris, my mom, and my dad could name a lot of them when we were looking at the pictures. That night we went to a Nationals Baseball game. Wesley thoroughly enjoyed it until he fell asleep.
Saturday, We toured some of the Embassy's around DC. They were having a special day in over 40 Embassy's from all over the world. We only were able to go to a few of them because they were pretty spread out. A lot of places had the opportunity to try food, learn dances from their cultures, or other things they do from their countries. It was interesting to see. After the Embassy's we went and looked at all the monuments. It was very enjoyable. That night, we went to King St. which is where my parents live. Its very historic, it has tons of cool shops, restaurants, and a wharf we were able to go sit down and feed fish.
Sunday, We decided to take a trip to the zoo. A lot of it was under construction which was a bummer, but Wesley really enjoyed seeing all the animals. That night we just relaxed mostly and walked down King Street. At the wharf, their was a man doing caricatures, and we had one done. I was so happy with how it turned out.
Monday, We packed everything up in the morning and then went to Arlington Cemetery and Iwo Jima Memorial. I love Arlington cemetery. It is so peaceful. What a beautiful place to Honor our Soldiers.
One of Wesley's favorite things on the trip too was riding the Choo Choo (or metro) everywhere or riding on the Bus on King Street. He thought they were so fun and always asked for more of each. Since we have been back he has been obsessed with trains and buses! He gets so excited when he sees or hears either.

Almost home
We close on our house Wednesday afternoon and plan on moving in Thursday. We are so excited. We did a final walk through today and I think Wesley enjoyed all the space. He ran around and he kept asking to go outside to play in the grass. I am ready to unpack and settle and enjoy space!
Three years and going strong
We were married three years ago today! It was a super stormy and hectic day. But since that day we have changed, grown, laughed, loved, smiled, maybe argued a little. We lived in three different places, next week we move into our fourth, our second home we will buy, we have had one sweet little boy, kris graduated college, started his MBA, vacationed to Atlanta, the beach, Utah, and Washington DC. We have many more adventures to go on, and can't wait for every single one of them.
Carricatute
We just got back from vacation to Washington DC this week. It was a blast. Post with pictures to come. I just had to share this though. We had a carricature made one night down on the Warf. I have always wanted one. I was so excited with how it turned out.
Max
We go to the library pretty often lately. They have a pretty cool outdoor area. They had the boat from the where the wild things are. It was cute.
Elmo
Wesley's new obsession is Elmo. We don't watch sesame street, we didn't have Elmo toys, so I am not sure where this new found obsession came from. When kenley was here, she really liked Elmo, but that was a month ago and he just now started obsessing over Elmo.
First example, we went to his 18 month check up. We walked in to the waiting room and on the TV was Elmo, he screamed ELMO! ! And then watched for a few seconds and went on to say hi to other kids. Then as we were walking out he asked for Elmo, but the show changed and he cried.
Second example, Grandma Kim bought Wesley an alphabet Elmo thing after this new obsession came about. He loved it, the night he got it it had to ride in his lap on the way home. He wanted to hold someones hand so we told him to hold Elmo's. He held on to it, and fell asleep holding Elmo.
Third example, I wanted to get him a little Elmo. I found a hard, small, plastic one at target. We bought it, and he has barely let it leave his sight since!
Since then I have tried to turn on Elmo, but he has no interest in the actual show. Its odd.
My happy place
Sunday mornings we get to be lazy. Church doesn't start until one in the afternoon. So we usually lay in bed, all three of us together. We just play, tickle, sing songs, read books, and laugh. Its so wonderful to just relax as a family. I love my two boys! They sure can make me smile.
On another note, we are under contract to buy a house! We are super excited. We hope everything goes as plans! If so we will close towards the end of May. Keep your fingers crossed for us! I have been pinning all sorts of ideas for our future house. It will be nice to be in a much bigger space.
