Ideas Please.

Kris and I are trying to figure out some creative gifts to give our parents for all their help and support through this wedding planning fiasco. We are going to give them wedding albums after the wedding, but we want to give them a little something before hand.

I have a couple ideas, but nothing that seems quite perfect! Both of our parents like cute, personal gifts.

So help please!

.21 Days.

Packing

Everyday it is getting closer, and I am so stinkin' excited! We leave Utah next Thursday! It's coming up so fast. I still have tons to pack, as of now I have one tote packed. And I have tons of stuff to take to the good ole DI. One week and I will be headed to Home Sweet Home! Just thought I'd let everyone know :)

SURPRISE!

This weekend I had the best surprise of my life! Kristofer flew in to Utah for the weekend. He surprised me Thursday night at work. At first, I didn't even recognize him at first because that was the last thing I expected. After the first shock, I was very excited. He's known since Christmas he was coming, and he kept it a secret the whole time! What a good secret keeper he is!! Everyone knew but me that he was coming and no one let it slip. How cool. I really do hate surprises but I mostly loved this one :) Thursday my sister made dinner, and we had one of his friends over from SVU. Then on Friday we drove down to Lehi to hang out with his brother BJ and his wife Gina. Kris brought his nephew Malachi along so BJ and Gina could have a rent a baby for a weekend :). We had fun playing with Malachi as well. Then we went to his mission reunion in Bountiful, and hung out with some of his old mission buddies. On Saturday we attempted to watch Conference but fell asleep multiple times. That night we ate dinner with my grandparents, and headed back to BJ and Gina's to hang out and have fun. We went bowling and played games. It was all a blast.

We ended up staying there that night, because it was so late when we finished playing games. Sunday morning we had tickets to Conference (thanks to Kristofer’s friend Anthony), so we got up early and headed to the Conference Center. We had floor seats, and we were way close. It was Amazing. I had never been before and I loved every moment of it. Then we watched the second session with BJ and Gina and Gina's family in Holiday. It was fun, and way good food too:) My Mom's sister, Nette, threw us a couples showers Sunday Night. There we got some sweet gifts and money :) Then we just hung out the rest of the time and enjoyed our unexpected time together until Monday afternoon. It was sad to see him go, but only three weeks until I am home for good!

Finished!

Finished! Well I was home this last week, and almost all of the plans are finished. The only thing left to do do is finish my centerpieces. It is such a huge relief. We picked a caterer, florist, set up the floor plan, decorations, a person to make the cake, photography, HAND ADDRESSED all the invitations, made the inserts, and everything else. There are just a few things left to do, but they are easy and simple.

I also go to see where I am going to live, and it was so fun. It is a little attic apartment right on campus in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It is a  two bedroom, one bath apartment. We've been so lucky and gotten everything we need for our apartment from generous gifts through friends and family. It is so crazy how everything works out when you are doing the right thing.

Yesterday was two months exactly until the big day!! Time is going by so fast. It was also a good day, because all the paperwork finally went through for the apartment, so now it is legit, and Kristofer just has to sign the paperwork. I can't believe its coming so fast. But I am also so excited to finally be in the same state as him, let alone living with him.

We are both so ready for this distance to be over, its no fun. Props to everyone else who does it. It really does test you, but its wonderful. I wouldn't change it for anything, it has brought us so much closer.

A Little Crafty Fun!

So I've had the urge to do all sorts of random projects lately. So here is a glimpse of what i have done. I have a cricut machine that can cut paper and such. So I've been making a scrapbook sign-in book for my wedding. I don't have pictures of that though. I'm not very good at it. But my sister and I were at Hobby Lobby and saw a cute idea for a glass box for my  mom. So we created it the other day. And here is what it looks like :) (last image)  She will love it. We will give it to her on Friday when we go home for a week and a few days.  Next, i made a scripture picture frame. Kris loves D&C 88:119. its says "Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God;" So i used vinyls, flowers, and a frame so we can hang it up in our future house (first picture) As you might could see in the picture, while putting the words on I broke a pane of the glass, so I need to go buy a new one. The broken one will work to press the flowers for now. I can't wait to see it on the wall. And the middle picture is vinyl up on the wall in the apartment. It says "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!"

Birthday Time!

Happy Birthday to my Kristofer!!! Well today is Kristofer's birthday, and I am sad I can't be with him. So I made it special! I sent him a package last week. I hope it gets there today! That would be sweet. So i mailed him some random things he wanted and I made him some cookies. But his big surprise is a t-shirt from the Gators big win last football season. For those of you who don't Kristofer loves the Gators! Here is what it is...

And then I had him made a Personal Cookie Cake that says Happy Birthday Kris. And Also I am ordering him pizza and sprite. After he gets out of class I am going to send him on a scavenger hunt to pick up his surprises! how fun!!

I love him so much, and I can't wait to spend days like these together after we are married.

I love you KRIS!

Check!

Well slowly but surely we are getting more things accomplished. We finally ordered our invitations on Friday. I've started our guest sign-in book scrapbook, and it's looking pretty sweet so far. Although there is still lots to be done, as always. Things are getting checked off our huge checklist day by day. Which is good because we are THREE MONTHS AND COUNTING TODAY! how exciting. I will also be home in a little less that three weeks to help finish up the plans there. It will be a splendid trip with a little trip to the beach with just my mom, sister, and best friend for some R&R. I can't wait.

Little "nuggets" about us...

Well. I thought I should tell everyone a little bit more about us. I will start with Kristofer, because you probably already know about me. He is 23, he will be 24 on the 23rd of this month. He served a mission in Argentina, and he loved it. He has two brothers and a sister, and two nephews who are adorable. He attends the University of Alabama, majoring in finance and spanish. He loves the Florida Gators, he even bought me a sweatshirt so I can support. He loves to play soccer. He played for SVU for a year before his mission.  He likes to play most sports, and watch most sports on T.V. as well. He plays the guitar and sings if you are special. I tell him all the time he should write me a song, he won't do it. :( He's very well mannered, and a wonderful gentleman. I couldn't have gotten anyone better.

Now for me, well I am 20, still a kid I know. I will be 21 on August 30th. I grew up an Army brat, so I have lived and traveled constantly since I was little. It will be a change to actually be settled, we will see how I adjust to not having change. Right now, I am attending Utah State University majoring in Family Life Studies. After I move home to be married, I will be able to finish my degree on-line. I try to be active, right now i am taking a spinning class and it kicks my butt every week. I like to run too, except not in Utah in the cold and elevation, not so fun. I can't wait to be in Alabama again for good, that's where I call home.

Kristofer and I met officially in May 2008, short dating period, long engagement. We are weird, we know. We knew very fast that we loved each other so much, and we wanted to get married. Friends and family were all taken back about how fast, but that didn't change how we felt. Well come to find out over the past few months, our paths have crossed at various points over the past five years through mutual friends and what not. Crazy how life works out isn't it? We're goofy as can be, we are constantly laughing and smiling like little school kids. We spend every moment possible together when we are in the same city, we are best friends too. We don't care where we are as long as we are together. Cheesy...I know, but very true!

We are getting married on May 16th in the Birmingham, Alabama LDS Temple. We can't wait, we really wish it was tomorrow. We are currently 2000 miles apart, and it sucks very badly. It could be tons worse though, and we are very grateful for technology and webcams :) We web-cam everyday for hours on end and its wonderful. I wouldn't trade it for anyting, except maybe being physically next to me. Well if you have any questions, just ask.

100 Days and Counting!

Today is 100 days until the best day of my life! I am so excited i can hardly handle it, and I think I get more excited everyday. I'm not on top of the planning stuff, but I am getting there slowly. I FINALLY have a dress, and I love it. Mostly all we have left are the little details. I'm a big picture kind of girl though, so this is a bit harder. I am also a little bit indecisive and I suffer from decidophobia (and yes this is a real thing, I learned about it in Resource Management). But as time is getting closer, I've gotten a little more nervous to get everything done, so maybe I will kick into over drive soon and knock it all out. :)
